We all know I played Prospero for my thesis in graduate school, so when I had the opportunity to perform in The Tempest a second time I wanted something totally different. Granted! I will be playing Trinculo, the Jester, and I can't wait to explore my clown and physical comedy work. Opens July 11th @ Theater 54. Good stuff.
Barefoot Theater company is taking on a new role as film maker. Introducing, Barefoot Studio Picture. http://barefootstudiopictures.blogspot.com/2012/06/debut-film.html
The inaugural film, titled Floating Sunflowers, will kick off this exciting new venture. I will be part of an amazing cast, including Anna Chlumsky (VEEP) and Lynn Cohen (Munich, Sex and the City). Really looking forward to such a wonderful collaboration!
I was fortunate this past week to work as production manager for Barefoot Theater Company's Spring production of "Eavesdropping on Dreams." The talent in this show is immense, but the highlight was having the opportunity to watch actress Lynn Cohen (best known for her role as Magda in "Sex and the City") rehearse and perform. Her process is so simple and utterly connected. It was a rare privilege and one not taken for granted.
Check out Barefoot Theater Company. It is a beautiful collection of artists making substantial, challenging, and innovative work.
Barefoot Theater Company has asked me to become an Artistic Associate. This means that I will support the company on the business and artistic end. I will help with promotion, social media, and facilitating staged readings. As well as given the opportunity to perform with their already establishe
The amazingly talented group of people from my LAB Ensemble experience have continued our work together by forming a collective of like-minded theater artists. We put on a show in mid-December that was a brilliant success and we are now on to a more ambitious project. More details to follow, but we are looking to submit for international Fringe festivals. Very exciting.
With one week left of the Ensemble Workshop, I have to reflect on my experience. As I contemplate the amazing jewels of insight I have gained and refreshed perspective on my craft, I have to say that it has been a fucking blast. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone!
I am so excited to participate in this five week workshop intensive with LAB members and friends of LAB as my instructors. A great company to work with!
Due to circumstances largely outside of the control of the production company, I will no longer be performing in Woyzeck this October. I am disappointed because I was excited about digging my teeth into such a challenging role, but I have to trust that another opportunity will present itself. Stay tuned
The weekend is coming to a close and I have to say this has been the most rewarding and challenging weekend of performances ever. We have been working in over 100 degree heat in a theater with no air conditioning while wearing heavy wool costumes. But we pushed through and turned out some amazing work for our dedicated audience. 8 more shows to go and much cooler temperatures predicted! Come and check it out.
